MODULE - 4 WATER CONSERVATION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT


WATER CONSERVATION:

Water conservation includes all the policies, strategies and activities to sustainably manage the natural resource of fresh water, to protect the hydrosphere, and to meet the current and future human demand (thus avoiding water scarcity). Population, household size and growth and affluence all affect how much water is used. 


Many countries have already implemented policies aimed at water conservation, with much success. The key activities to conserve water are as follows: any beneficial reduction in water loss, use and waste of resources, avoiding any damage to water and improving water management practices reduce the use or enhance the beneficial use of water.


We had a session on water conservation and the amount of drinking water available and amount of water is being polluted by many human practices.




WASTE MANAGEMENT:

Waste management or waste disposal includes the processes and actions required to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal. This includes the collection, transport, treatment and disposal of waste, together with monitoring and regulation of the waste management process and waste-related laws, technologies, economic mechanisms.


The aim of waste management is to reduce the dangerous effects of such waste on the environment and human health. A big part of waste management deals with municipal solid waste, which is created by industrial, commercial, and household activity.



Waste can be solid, liquid, or gases and each type has different methods of disposal and management. Waste management deals with all types of waste, including industrial, biological, household, municipal, organic, biomedical, radioactive wastes. In some cases, waste can pose a threat to human health. Health issues are associated throughout the entire process of waste management. Health issues can also arise indirectly or directly: directly through the handling of solid waste, and indirectly through the consumption of water, soil and food. Waste is produced by human activity, for example, the extraction and processing of raw materials. Waste management is intended to reduce adverse effects of waste on human health, the environment, planetary resources and aesthetics.

MODULE - 5 FOOD WALK

Food walks can be a fun and educational way to connect with the local community and experience the city's culinary diversity. It is interesting to see how much we have changed —the way we live, farm, and cook and eat. But we still love to eat many of the dishes that have been part of our cuisine for centuries. MODULE -01 VISIT TO KVK AND PLANTATION

   PLANTATION AND ADOPTION: Our Coorg institute of technology organized a tree plantation programme   some local municipality department officers have participated in our program. They guided us on how to plant a sapling properly. The aim of the program is to plant a  saplings on the school campus and nearby local areas. One by one students and teachers started planting saplings. Firstly, we started planting saplings in the place  of our college campus and after that, we planted saplings in the KVK( Krishi Vigyan Kendra ) gonnikoppa . Students also made some posters and banners on the importance of tree plantations. After our goal of planting a trees is achieved, we come to our college.
